About the Event
This event will take place Saturday, June 5th, 2021, at Lakeshore State Park, 500 North Harbor Drive on the north edge of the park. Access to the park is via Erie Street on the south end of the park east of the Summerfest Amphitheater. We recommend people drive to The Milwaukee Sail Loft - 649 E Erie St, Milwaukee, WI 53202. Outside the Sail Loft we will have a volunteer or board member who will direct participants and their supporters to nearby parking.
FHNB will provide:
fishing on the big water
experienced fishing captains
fishing licences for all participants
boats, bait, tackle, and adaptive fishing gear
all food/beverages and lunch
safe dock loading and accessibility
This year there is no cost to the event. The first 20 participants who sign up will be part of the event. Each participant is allowed to bring one advocate with them. This event is supported by many volunteers, Charter Captains, and sponsors. This wouldn't be possible without them. FHNB Great Lakes Milwaukee Chapter says "thank you, see you on the water, and let's catch some big fish!"
Big Fish Event Schedule
6:00 am - Check-in begins (or prearranged time with Fleet Director)
6:30 am - Boats cast off from docks
11:30 am - Boats return. Fish weigh in, boxed lunch to follow.
Volunteers actively plan the event, guide and assist participants on/off watercraft, cook, clean fish, and handle logistics. We would love more volunteers, support, and sponsors.
